Simple tips to managing ones weight

Set weight management goals.

Maintain a long term healthy lifestyle.

Consume less energy than you use.

Adopt a healthy eating plan. Healthy food should be low in fat, low in sodium, low in cholesterol, low in added sugars, low in saturated fats and cholesterol, rich in lean protein (that is protein with minimal fat),  rich in whole grain foods, rich in fruits and vegetables and drink a lot of water.

Reduce portion sizes
Incorporate physical exercise and activity  into ones lifestyle. This also lowers risk of heart diseases, strengthens the heart and lungs, strengthens muscles and joints, slows bone loss. Increases ones energy, helps one to relax and  to cope with illness and makes it easier for one to fall asleep.
If one incorporates exercise into ones family it is an excellent way to bond and share as a family.
Seek a support network to motivate oneself in meeting weight management goals.
Keep a record to track your progress.
Reward oneself and celebrate meeting weight management objectives.
Seek professional and medical advice in meeting your weight management goals.
