Why we should all give back
14th January 2019

Why choose, “Giving Back: I will be my brother’s and sister’s keeper” as a theme for the ‘Wacha niKwambie’ blog this year? Partly propelled by the lead writer’s happenings in her
life last year, partly propelled by the situation in her country, Kenya.

We have heard it over and over again that to live a life of purpose is to live a life that is beyond oneself.
So what if one is living all the tenets of Wellness and the children from a neigbouring slum can barely read or write? The inhabitants themselves do not know the tenets of living a life of Wellness?
True impact in life is gained by lifting others. Leaving this world a better place than we found it not just for one or ones immediate family but for a greater good. Giving Back is not about creating a culture of dependancy on donors but upscaling and empowering others with what you have so that others too can have a chance to a better life in this world.

Hence 2019 where all the readers of ‘Wacha niKwambie’ blog will be inspired to give back to their individual communities all the goodness of Wellness that we have been blogging about these past five years.

Follow us in 2019 in our own community on the ground initiatives in Wellness. Share with us what you are up to on the ground in your own effort to Give Back. We are inspired by the former first lady of the United States of America’s words, Michelle Obama, “People who are truly strong lift others up. People who are truly powerful bring others together.” We all have something to Give Back.

‘Wacha niKwambie’ mtaani. 2019 (Translation ‘Wacha niKwambie’ blog in the ‘hood) Excited. So looking forward.

Happy New Year from us at the blog.
