The greatest motivation comes from inside. Self motivation that is. If you seek motivation from other people, your business partners, your employees, your clients, circumstances, if they fail you you will be disappointed and fail miserably. Be a self motivated type of person. Set goals for your hustle no matter how lofty they may seem. Come up with a plan to achieve them.

Keep company with motivated and inspiring entrepreneurs. Misery loves company; there are those who are always whining and complaining about situations in life, year in year out. They do not seem to grow, rather than offer solutions to problems their portion is always to narrate about what is going wrong without offering alternatives or offering solutions themselves. We are blessed to live in a digital age where you can follow inspiring and successful entrepreneurs and seeing what they are up to. I have never met Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie in person but I can tell you what she has been up to as a celebrated writer these past few months, days and listened ardently to her recent speeches.

Iyanla Vanzant is one of the most inspiring spiritual personalities, small wonder I follow her ardently as a wellness lifestyle writer. I have no room for negative and toxic entrepreneurs in my writing life. Don’t down grade your dream to fit your current reality. Aim for the stars and the sun and if at first you reach the moon aim higher again as an entrepreneur. Sometimes you may look at your current circumstances as an entrepreneur and feel demotivated – that should be no reason to lower your dreams. Hold on to your dreams no matter how wild they may seem to you.

Don’t wait for reward and recognition from other people. When you have nabbed a big project or deal in your business, reward yourself with something. It doesn’t have to be something big but something that you like or appreciate or better still make a less fortunate member of society’s life better to celebrate a milestone in your business.

Absorb and live positive and powerful motivation quotes and reads. Again there are certain personalities and institutions that are on to something inspiring and motivating on their online profiles. Do not just read the quotes but live them.

Have adequate sleep. Sleep rejuvenates and revitalises ones body and mind. If you are suffering bouts of insomnia you need to tell your personal doctor about it to seek a solution.

Have a daily morning routine that jumpstarts you for the day. For some it is reading and meditation. For others it is praying. For others it is a work out at the gymn and I understand for some it is a morning run at Kibra.

Schedule me time. Time by and for yourself, away from it all at least once a week. Time alone doing something that you enjoy.

We are on a roll here trying to think of ways to remain inspired as an entrepreneur. My friend and “Wacha niKwambie” blog contributor Andrew Amadi shared with a group of us this past week that one must have a purpose as an entrepreneur that one thing that envelopes everything that the entrepreneur does. We could not agree more with him.

Can you share with us ways that can help you remain inspired as an entrepreneur? When you have began to feel jaded what can you do to rejuvenate your entrepreneurship mojo and get your groove back?
